One of the most frequently asked questions we receive is “will laser hair removal work for me?”
In order to answer this question, you should first know how laser hair removal works. The laser delivers an intense beam of light, which is absorbed by the melanin – the pigments- in the skin and converted to heat. The heat is then absorbed by the cells being targeted, while the surrounding tissue remains unaffected.
If you have darker hair, laser hair removal is an excellent choice for you.
However, if you have blonde, red, grey, or white hair, you are without any pigment. In this instance, electrolysis is the only permanent solution for you. Keep in mind that electrolysis is intended for smaller areas, such as upper lip and chin.
Electrolysis can work on dark hair, but it takes a much longer time to deliver results than the laser will. You will need at least 6 treatments with the laser to see the results you desire.
